Consultation types

What we evaluate

Six consultation types covering risk, transactions, permits, storms, planting, and HOA properties.

  • Tree risk assessment

ANSI A300-aligned risk assessment with failure risk, targets, and mitigation options.

  • Pre-purchase / pre-sale evaluation

Identify risk and value-affecting tree conditions before a real estate transaction.

  • Protected-tree & permit consultation

Arborist opinion and report before applying to remove or significantly trim a protected tree.

  • Post-storm evaluation

Check trees for hidden damage after a wind or storm event.

  • Landscape & planting plan

Species selection and placement guidance for long-term landscape health.

  • HOA property assessment

Common-area assessment, recurring inspection programs, and documentation.

Preserve vs remove

A preserve-first philosophy

When preservation is the safer and better choice, the recommendation says so. Removal is recommended only when it is the right call.

Preserve when

  • Tree is healthy or manageable with pruning
  • Defect can be supported with cabling or bracing
  • Target risk can be reduced to acceptable level
  • Specimen, historic, or protected tree worth keeping

Remove when

  • Extensive decay or structural failure risk
  • Tree is dead or in irreversible decline
  • High target risk with no viable preservation option
  • Preservation would leave an unacceptable hazard
